Ahimsa Parmo Dharma Group organised its first event for the Ghoghari Jain Mahila Mandal at The Gujarat Institute Of Civil Engineers & Architects, Ahmedabad, on 5 July 2018. The talk was delivered in Gujarati about boosting health with the ahimsa lifestyle by Dr Rupa Shah, Author & Founder of COH, Mumbai.
The 200-member strong audience saw an evocative film about the dairy industry and how milk is adulterated. This was followed by cooking demo by Meena Shah, Heena Doshi and Priti Kapasi, who wowed the audience with oil-free and dairy free foods like coconut milk-based buttermilk , corn raita and laddu.
The event was well received, there and was very interactive. The range of unconventional-yet-delicious foods succeeded in arousing the curiosity of the audience who were surprised to learn that dairy-free foods were easy to make and affordable as well. The entire group was ready to give up dairy for next 30 days. This is the beginning of Ahimsa way of revolution in Gujarat.
