“We spread the vegan diet for health, environment and most of all, for the animals”

The recipient of the Nari Shakti Award 2016, Dr  Nandita Shah, will be the Chief Guest and Speaker at the Opening Ceremony of The Ahimsa Festival 2017 at Andrew’s Auditorium, Mumbai, on 26 October 2017. She plans to inspire the audience by sharing her journey about how the vegan lifestyle transformed her life.

She revealed her vision, “We aim to spread vegan diet for health, environment and most of all for the animals. We use health only as means to spread veganism.” For the coming New Year, she projected, “To train many more people and to spread health through vegan diet, and to grow a committed SHARAN team. Dr Shah added that her long-term goal is “to establish a rural centre where we can have residential health care, programmes and training all year round–have organic farming and a rescued farm-animal sanctuary.”

She continued, “We have organized various training programmes–in December and January in Mumbai and in UK in April, next year. We are looking to align with a Senior Living company/ community.”

About Dr Nandita Shah, Founder, SHARAN

Dr Shah is a registered medical doctor, specialized in homeopathy from the CMP Homeopathic Medical College in Mumbai. She has been in practice since 1981. Presently, she heads conducts a range of seminars like Peas vs Pills, Reversing Diabetes and Hypertension & Heart Disease and retreats across India. She is also scheduled to also speak at the Closing Ceremony of the festival at Khar Education Society, Khar (West), Mumbai on 12 November 2017. Her Mumbai team, headed by Reyna Rupani will engage visitors with workshops and activities through the day.
